Let the Summer begin!
Summer is here now and with it we have ended the spring online plant availability for shipping. If you are in the Oregon territory we will be selling a curated selection of our finest crevice garden, alpines and rock garden plants at the Rancho Cistus Summer Extravaganza on July 12th. Click here for details. Some great vendors will be there, selling an array of tough drought tolerant plants. Noted author Kenton Seth will be speaking on Crevice gardens, and that if that isn’t the only reason you need to attend, Dan Hinkley will be speaking as well. If you need more persuading Cistus will have the always amazing selection of plants on sale, and giving tours of the garden! I will bring along some extra special one offs that we don’t feature in the catalog, so if you are in the area you better be there.
Thank you to all the customers who supported us this spring! It was a banner year for the alpine and rock garden plants we love to share with you!
Stay tuned for the bulb catalog which will be coming out in Late July/Early August, I will send out some notifications as we get closer to that.
Moraea hybrid-Stay tuned for the upcoming summer dormant bulb catalog!
It was a fantastic Spring season and another big thank you to all the customers who bought plants! A much needed break for a few weeks will hopefully get us up to see some alpine plants in nature, maybe do a little fishing and enjoying some much needed down time. Joleen and Lindsey are working on a cut flower stand to have on the corner of our little illahe so you’ll have to check that out if you are in our neck of the woods. Cheers to Summer!
Click on the gallery below to see a few scenes of summer at illahe as we are diving into it full steam ahead.
For those of you who can’t make it to the Cistus event, and just can’t wait until fall for plants, I will ship Plant collection boxes through the summer, when the weather permits. These boxes are our choice of plants, and are a fantastic value over the regular catalog prices, you can always let us know your interests and we will do our best to accommodate. Boxes should ship within two weeks of order (probably much less) and we will let you know when it’s going out. These summer shipments are non refundable as shipping in the summer is getting trickier so please be aware of that. There is a situation developing with the USPS and priority mail not arriving as it used to, so shipping these will now be UPS 2 day to ensure the plants get there happy and healthy.
“Summer is the time when it is too hot to do the job that it was too cold to do last winter.”
