Flower Bulbs are coming

“The wheel barrow wheels a hummin’, moving loads of potting soil, Flower bulbs are ripening, bags and boxes stacking, getting ready for the shipping. “

Well, my summer break didn’t last very long, the end of July came sneaking up way too fast. Did get a little salmon fishing trip in, but not nearly enough hiking or exploring. Dropping a line to say that the stirrings of a bulb harvest have begun, the tentative schedule is the the bulbs dug and catalogued and the list published the the first week of August. Shipping will be through August and September. Of course, the murphy’s law rule applies, but with any luck the weather will stay on the cooler side and the digging and repotting will proceed smoothly. I do want to say that the bulb harvest and subsequent catalogue will be smaller this year than some of the previous offerings. We are rebuilding some of the bulb collection and letting some things rest, with some new choice stuff coming along from wild sourced seeds as well and like a fine wine, sometimes its better to let them age a bit before sampling.

The Tigridia in the foreground will not be for sale, but all those lovely rows of pots will have treasures in the that will be up for offer in this years bulb list.

So stay tuned, and stay cool. I will definitely update as we get closer, but so far things look to be on the schedule listed above. Thank you for your patience, and if you are a new customer or follower of the blog. Many of the bulbs, especially the rarer ones are always available in very limited quantities so you have to order as soon as the list is updated.

High 80’s, this week but for some reason lately the sun just feels hotter than it did when I was a kid?
