Catalog Release Date Announced
Cue anticipatory drum roll……………I put a countdown timer on the front page of the website to announce exactly when the catalog will go live. It’s the fairest thing I can come up with after having many inquiries about holding or pre ordering bulbs and complaints about selling out super fast.
So the catalog will be online about 9 am Pacific Standard Time on Saturday August 9th. This year more than others I have smaller numbers but of some super rare things that you can’t find anywhere else in horticulture. So set a reminder on your smart phone, or put a tick on the calendar hanging in your kitchen or bathroom. get a sharpie and write it on the back of your hand, Sticky note on the computer. However you need to remind yourself to be somewhere important on Saturday morning. Important note to International Customers at the bottom of this message please be sure to read.
The robust Fritillaria pudica form from the John Day River will be available.
So many choice things to list out, but some extra special ones are showing up in this years list. Wild collected seed grown Colchicums from Iran that won’t be coming back into horticulture for who knows how long? Brand new never released Erythronium ‘Pacific Melodies Strain’ is sure to be a winner and set your garden out in the coming springs. Choice and rare snowdrops for the collectors. A few of our own finds from the Texas hill country to the outback of Oregon like Alliums and Fritillaria that no one else has. Some Iris I have never featured before plus a huge selection of stunning South African bulbs is featured this year, so if you are getting some hotter drier summers check those out for sure! Too many things to list, but make sure you are online on Saturday morning because this sale won’t last long.
Peacock Iris, Gladiolus, Watsonia, Ferraria and many other South African specialties will be on the list, many of them have seen some pretty harsh winters so they have some proven hardiness here at illahe.
International Customers Please Note:
I have had mostly good luck shipping international the last 10 years I have done it, however things are constantly changing in the world right now. Please do your research ahead of ordering to be sure you can recieve bulbs. If bulbs are denied entry and sent back to me in viable condition, I will refund the cost of the bulbs only, you will still be responsible for Shipping, and Phytosanitary costs as these won’t be refunded, it takes a lot of time and effort to package and paperwork international shipments and I am trying to make ends meet here so I can keep doing this. I am not certified to ship CITES plants so don’t order anything on the list. I am shipping International Orders via UPS, they are typically quite prompt and handle the brokerage for which the international customer is responsible. I do not know what lies in store with the tarriffs, duties and fees situation, so be prepared for that. Unfortunately it is getting more difficult to sell plants on the international market, I however will do everything on my end to make sure that the shipment meets your countries expectations for plant material at the time of shipping.
The winter blooming Narcissus will be available just in time for you to pot some up and get them into bloom for Christmas gifts!
Remember quantities are limited so order as soon as the list is out or you will have to wait another year for these floral treasures to come around again.
See you online on Saturday!
