Plant Sale this weekend-Rancho Cistus Summer Extravaganza!
This weekend you need to be at the Rancho Cistus Summer Extravaganza! We have some of our best plants going to this sale, many never offered before! Kaia and Lindsey have been crazy busy propagating some super duper plants. Crevice/trough garden folks we will have a huge selection of cushion plants like Acantholimon, Androsace, Silene, Saxifraga, Vitaliana, Draba, Lewisia, Lewisiopsis, Penstemon, Phlox and so many more that will make your garden pop come early spring. Native folks, we have some extra special high alpines and choice dwarf plants from our own Cascade Mountains, The Wallowas and the Siskiyou Mountains. For those that want to push the drought tolerant limits we have some amazing things from the California chaparrel to the high Colorado Plateau to the Mountains of the Eastern Mediterranean and the Southwestern deserts. If you are looking for the wonderful Texas Madrone, Arbutus xalapensis that graces our rock garden, we have a lot of nice big plants going to this sale. This has been a standout in our rock garden for 15 years now and it’s fragrant flowers, peeling bark, evergreen foliage, showy fall berries and wonderful habit make it a standout specimen.

We will have some nice pots of this wonderful small, drought tolerant tree, that is perfect for Northwest gardens. It’s four season interest and compact size make it perfect for urban gardens!

We hope you have all been enjoying summer, we have been able to get out a few times to the high alpine and click the gallery below for a sneak peak of some upcoming blog entries when things settle down finally (I say that like they ever actually will?) In the meantime enjoy a bit of our wonderful Northwest mountains and the wildflowers they have to offer, the gallery includes some pics from a recent overnighter up into Jefferson Park. Anya is home for a bit this summer and she joined us for a little wildflower adventure to one of our favorite minor peaks in the Cascades. The wildflowers are great this year!
