Alplains collection number and description: 76476.57 (W) Del Norte Co., CA, 4050ft, 1235m. Sessile umbels of deep rose-pink to magenta flowers over two narrow, falcate leaves. This endemic to northern California and southern Oregon is a dwarf version of A. falcifolium growing on high serpentine ridge crests.
In the rock garden its a standout late spring bloomer, with the dark blossoms only a couple inches off the ground, would be dynamite in a trough as well.
