Campanula ledebouriana — Ledebour's Bellflower
A choice and relatively uncommon bellflower from the mountains of Armenia and eastern Turkey. Campanula ledebouriana is a specialist of rocky mountain habitats, producing an attractive low-growing plant with delicate bell-shaped flowers. Its origins in the Caucasus make it an especially interesting addition to a collection of species from the great mountain floras of western Asia.
This is an excellent plant for the specialist rock garden, particularly in a sharply drained crevice, scree planting, or alpine trough. Like other specialist rock-garden Campanula, it should be grown in gritty, free-draining soil and protected from prolonged winter wet. A position in full sun will help maintain compact growth and good flowering.
