Corydalis wilsonii is a choice species for the rock garden, forming a low, delicate clump of finely divided foliage and producing soft yellow flowers in spring. Native to rocky, open habitats in western China, it is found growing among limestone rocks, cliffs, and mountain slopes where the soil is lean and sharply drained. The combination of its ferny foliage, diminutive habit, and early flowers makes it particularly well suited to troughs, screes, and rock garden crevices.
