Edraianthus hybrids

$8.00

Garden-Origin Collection, Sweden

A charming and diverse seed-grown mix gathered from the Swedish rock garden of Peter Janises, where several Edraianthus species—likely including E. graminifolius, E. tenuifolius, and E. pumilio—intermingled freely. The resulting hybrids bring a delightful range of flower forms and colors, from soft lavender to deep violet-blue, all carried on compact tufts or tight grassy mats of fine foliage.

Each plant is unique: some produce upward-facing bells, others nod demurely among the leaves, and all share the genus’s unmistakable alpine poise and long bloom through early to midsummer. Ideal for tufa, troughs, or dry crevices where drainage is sharp and roots stay cool.

This northern garden strain has proven remarkably hardy and floriferous, performing well even in the cool, damp climates of the Pacific Northwest. Hardy to USDA Zone 4 or colder. A delightful chance to grow the unexpected beauty of Edraianthus hybrid vigor—no two plants quite alike, yet all undeniably of alpine charm
