Hardy to Zone 9 (or grow in containers and lift before hard frost). Many species offer a light, pleasant fragrance when the sun warms the blooms.
I tell the story in some of my talks about how I left a pack of these bulbs in the shop after a September sale and found them 2 and a half years later, planted them and they came right up, having survived temps as high as 105 degrees F. and as low as 10 deg. F. Remarkable bulbs indeed.
