Hormium pyrenaicum
Horminum pyrenaicum, commonly known as Dragonmouth or Pyrenean Dead-nettle, is a distinctive and rarely offered alpine perennial, prized for its bold, textured foliage and striking violet-blue flowers. Native to the Pyrenees and other European mountain regions, this compact, clump-forming plant features crinkled, glossy green leaves and spikes of tubular, hooded flowers that resemble miniature dragon heads—earning it its dramatic common name.
I think this is such a cool plant, the ramonda like foliage is showy when the plant is out of bloom and if there was ever a plant to add a great look to a crevice garden, this is it as it is showy out of bloom, the foliage tucks itself into crevices very nicely and runs through rocks. The spikes of dragon mouth flowers are showy.
These are small plants, but they do grow quickly, great size for planting in a rock crevice/trough. Price reflects the size, if you want to wait until next year to get them, they will be much more expensive.
