This is an exceptionally nice dwarf bearded iris, with dark, dark purple standards and a bright golden beard that really pops out. It’s mini dwarf bearded for sure, but I cannot find the name verified anywhere out on the interwebs. I got it either from Kathy Allens garden or the Portland Iris club sale, my records don’t verify which one. Maybe it’s just a good plant that doesn’t need a pedigree, like any good loyal mutt we call best friend. This one absolutely shines in the rock garden, needing no water for the summer, it does it’s late spring show and then quietly blends into the landscape.
