Lewisia pygmaea
The pygmy bitteroot is a wonderful little succulent from the upper elevation mountains from California to Alaska and inland. Bright pink flowers spring from small tufts of linear foliage in the spring, making this a great addition to the trough, crevice or dry rock garden. A full sun lover and often baked dry during the summer months, if you grow it on the dry side the foliage will be smaller and the flowers pop out more.
