Oreostemma alpigenum
Outstanding Northwest native alpine aster, we collected this one from the Sandy shores of Horseshoe lake, elevation 5, 732’ A beautiful mountain lake high above the Clackamas River drainage source of Ollalie. This area burned during the covid years and the recovery has been good, with these wonderful mountain asters growing thick in the moist sand and ash at the lakes edge.
These are a drought tolerant, beautiful small aster for the rock garden, excellent native pollinator attractor!
