Phlox x henyrae 'Camla'

$8.00

A hybrid of two native American Phlox species, P. nivalis and P. bifida. This wonderful spreading groundcover. In mid to late spring, the plant is smothered in a profusion of small, star-shaped flowers in soft lavender-pink tones, often with a subtle eye and a slightly iridescent quality in strong light. The bloom is typically so abundant that it nearly obscures the foliage, creating a continuous wash of color across the plant.

In cultivation, Phlox × henryae ‘Camla’ thrives in full sun and sharply drained, lean soils, performing best in rock gardens, crevice plantings, and alpine troughs where drainage is excellent and competition is minimal. It benefits from open exposure and good air movement and is intolerant of heavy or waterlogged soils, especially in winter.

Hardy in USDA Zones 4–7, this selection is valued for its dense carpeting habit, reliable spring display, and soft coloration, making it an effective and durable groundcover for small-scale alpine and rock garden compositions.
