Protea venusta

$18.00
sold out

Native to the high-altitude slopes of the Swartberg Mountains in South Africa, Protea venusta is a compact, slow-growing shrub prized for its showy, creamy-pink flower heads and silvery foliage. Ideal for rock gardens or container planting, it thrives in well-drained, acidic soils with full sun exposure. Drought-tolerant once established, it requires minimal irrigation and good air circulation.

Hardy to light frost (USDA Zones 9–10), it benefits from protection in colder climates. In our garden it has survived down to 15 degrees but was on the dry side.
