Silene pharnaceifolia
I can’t find much information on this species, other than some collection locations in Lebanon, and that it ranges into Turkey. This is one of the many treasures that I was able to propagate from cuttings after Southern Oregons, Kathy Allen passed away. I am very grateful to the family and to her friend Gail that made that early winter cutting trip possible. I am also grateful to the many folks from the Siskiyou chapter who spent hours keeping her garden from becoming a weedy mess. It’s truly a legend in the the gardening world.
This species has small silvery leaves, and apparently a very dwarf, shrubby habit, the pink catchfly’s would make this a fantastic choice for any rock garden.
