Townsendia grandiflora

$10.00
sold out

A charming alpine perennial native to the western United States, Townsendia grandiflora delights with its large, daisy-like blooms atop compact, rosette-forming foliage. Native to rocky slopes, open meadows, and high plains from Montana through Colorado to New Mexico, this hardy wildflower thrives in well-drained soils and full sun.

The cheerful flowers, often in shades of white to soft pink to bright magenta with golden centers, appear in late spring to early summer, attracting native pollinators including bees and butterflies. Its low, clumping habit makes it perfect for rock gardens, alpine troughs, or the front of perennial borders.

Plant in gritty, fast-draining soil with excellent sun exposure. Avoid heavy, wet soils, as the plant is prone to root rot in poorly drained conditions. Once established, it is drought-tolerant and requires minimal maintenance.

Hardiness: USDA Zones 4–7.

Save seed and resow as these are not long lived but will reward you for years if you keep the seed going .
